Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Travel sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 4.96% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr), which rose 0.67% or 0.13 points to trade at 19.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) added 0.47% or 0.11 points to end at 23.75 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.779 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which fell 14.56% or 0.11 points to trade at 0.63 at the close. Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) declined 13.96% or 0.073 points to end at 0.450 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was down 12.24% or 0.018 points to 0.129.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 65 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) fell to 3-years lows; losing 14.56% or 0.11 to 0.63.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.53% or 6.20 to $1169.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.12% or 0.07 to hit $58.07 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.04 to trade at $62.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.05% to 1.1120, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.7288.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.98% at 96.43.
