Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Household and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 3.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR), which rose 4.72% or 0.25 points to trade at 5.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 4.68% or 0.013 points to end at 0.291 and Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) was up 2.33% or 0.02 points to 1.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which fell 16.26% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.103 at the close. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 7.50% or 0.012 points to end at 0.148 and Frigoglass (AT:FRIr) was down 7.08% or 0.17 points to 2.23.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 60 to 13 and 2 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.09% or 1.10 to $1206.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.18% or 0.11 to hit $59.83 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.79% or 0.52 to trade at $65.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.0970, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.7094.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 96.52.
