Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Food and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 2.88% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 10.68% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.114 at the close. Meanwhile, FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) added 9.39% or 0.230 points to end at 2.680 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 3.31% or 0.040 points to 1.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which fell 20.31% or 0.026 points to trade at 0.101 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 13.96% or 0.086 points to end at 0.530 and Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) was down 9.96% or 0.0780 points to 0.7050.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 59 to 40 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Select Textile (AT:EPIr) fell to all time lows; losing 20.31% or 0.026 to 0.101.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.34% or 4.45 to $1326.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.50% or 1.19 to hit $46.45 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.43% or 1.19 to trade at $47.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.14% to 1.0990, while EUR/GBP rose 2.56% to 0.8334.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.13% at 96.71.
