Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 13.32% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which rose 4.40% or 0.0330 points to trade at 0.7830 at the close. Meanwhile, Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) added 3.21% or 0.029 points to end at 0.932 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 0.74% or 0.001 points to 0.136 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which fell 30.00% or 0.264 points to trade at 0.616 at the close. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 29.66% or 0.700 points to end at 1.660 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was down 29.60% or 0.074 points to 0.176.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 102 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 4.24% or 53.60 to $1316.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.25% or 2.13 to hit $47.98 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 4.46% or 2.27 to trade at $48.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 2.34% to 1.1117, while EUR/GBP rose 6.34% to 0.8136.
The US Dollar Index was up 2.34% at 95.51.
