Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction, Banking and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.89% to hit a new all time low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR), which rose 9.49% or 0.48 points to trade at 5.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Public Power (AT:DEHr) added 6.06% or 0.16 points to end at 2.80 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) was up 4.78% or 0.047 points to 1.030 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which fell 12.24% or 0.041 points to trade at 0.294 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 10.00% or 0.009 points to end at 0.081 and Titan Cement (AT:TTNr) was down 6.88% or 1.120 points to 15.150.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 75 to 23 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) fell to 5-year lows; falling 12.24% or 0.041 to 0.294. Shares in Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) fell to all time lows; losing 10.00% or 0.009 to 0.081. Shares in Titan Cement (AT:TTNr) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.88% or 1.120 to 15.150.
Gold for April delivery was up 4.53% or 54.10 to $1248.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 4.01% or 1.10 to hit $26.35 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.38% or 0.73 to trade at $30.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.1347, while EUR/GBP rose 1.13% to 0.7862.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 95.51.
