Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Resources, Utilities and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.35%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 4.29% or 0.0350 points to trade at 0.8500 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) added 1.60% or 0.002 points to end at 0.127 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was up 1.12% or 0.010 points to 0.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which fell 9.94% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.154 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 9.88% or 0.0160 points to end at 0.1460 and Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) was down 8.96% or 0.032 points to 0.325.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 75 to 22 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.69% or 8.05 to $1164.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.12% or 0.57 to hit $51.41 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.17 to trade at $54.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.70% to 1.0543, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.8386.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 101.67.
