Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Travel and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.22%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 10.00% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.143 at the close. Meanwhile, Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) added 4.48% or 0.210 points to end at 4.900 and Reds (AT:CAMr) was up 2.89% or 0.009 points to 0.320 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr), which fell 5.39% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.580 at the close. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 5.00% or 0.01 points to end at 0.19 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was down 4.69% or 0.060 points to 1.220.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 58 to 39 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.41% or 5.15 to $1258.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.12% or 0.56 to hit $49.62 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.12% or 0.58 to trade at $51.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.1038, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.9046.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 97.68.
