Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which rose 11.82% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.123 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 7.11% or 0.016 points to end at 0.241 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was up 6.67% or 0.010 points to 0.160 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elgeka (AT:ELGr), which fell 9.82% or 0.028 points to trade at 0.257 at the close. Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) declined 5.36% or 0.30 points to end at 5.30 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was down 4.79% or 0.007 points to 0.139.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 40 to 36 and 1 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.12% or 1.40 to $1205.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.37% or 0.83 to hit $59.89 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.57% or 1.04 to trade at $65.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.76% to 1.1028, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.7117.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.70% at 96.14.
