Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Retail, Construction and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 9.68% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.136 at the close. Meanwhile, Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 5.63% or 0.0080 points to end at 0.1500 and Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) was up 3.13% or 0.150 points to 4.950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which fell 5.26% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.18 at the close. Reds (AT:CAMr) declined 4.98% or 0.016 points to end at 0.305 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was down 4.24% or 0.007 points to 0.158.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 51 to 37 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.13% or 0.150 to 4.950.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.75% or 9.45 to $1273.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.21% or 0.61 to hit $49.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 0.76 to trade at $50.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0869, while EUR/GBP rose 0.70% to 0.8954.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 98.90.
