Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Retail, Banking and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 9.92% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.133 at the close. Meanwhile, Halcor (AT:XAKO) added 7.41% or 0.020 points to end at 0.292 and Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr) was up 3.90% or 0.060 points to 1.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which fell 9.77% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.1200 at the close. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) declined 8.57% or 0.450 points to end at 4.800 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was down 6.41% or 0.050 points to 0.730.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 42 to 36 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.42% or 5.65 to $1353.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.29% or 0.59 to hit $46.33 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.49 to trade at $48.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.82% to 1.1275, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8679.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.77% at 94.84.
