Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 2.38% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 15.96% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.109 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 13.56% or 0.032 points to end at 0.268 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 11.43% or 0.084 points to 0.819 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr), which fell 7.41% or 0.1200 points to trade at 1.5000 at the close. Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) declined 5.39% or 0.09 points to end at 1.58 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) was down 4.79% or 0.08 points to 1.59.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 62 to 32 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.22% or 2.70 to $1251.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.83% or 0.81 to hit $43.37 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.90% or 0.87 to trade at $44.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1294, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.7881.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 94.54.
