Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Retail and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.86% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 13.38% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.161 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 8.11% or 0.009 points to end at 0.120 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 7.14% or 0.070 points to 1.050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which fell 3.91% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.43 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 3.00% or 0.03 points to end at 0.97 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was down 2.53% or 0.08 points to 3.08.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 68 to 31 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.63% or 8.00 to $1267.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.91% or 0.42 to hit $45.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 0.58 to trade at $47.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1391, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.7870.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 93.99.
