Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.41% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which rose 18.00% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.118 at the close. Meanwhile, Motor Oil (AT:MORr) added 9.48% or 0.71 points to end at 7.74 and Ellaktor (AT:HELr) was up 7.10% or 0.130 points to 1.960 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Intrakat (AT:INCr), which fell 3.77% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.510 at the close. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 2.77% or 0.009 points to end at 0.316 and Jumbo (AT:BABr) was down 2.74% or 0.250 points to 8.860.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 53 to 26 and 3 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.71% or 8.60 to $1211.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.26% or 0.15 to hit $56.84 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $64.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.76% to 1.0974, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.7159.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.70% at 96.22.
