Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Retail and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.30% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which rose 9.80% or 0.2500 points to trade at 2.8000 at the close. Meanwhile, Halcor (AT:XAKO) added 5.73% or 0.020 points to end at 0.369 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 5.51% or 0.007 points to 0.133 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which fell 5.96% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.473 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 4.48% or 0.006 points to end at 0.128 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was down 3.77% or 0.004 points to 0.102.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 62 to 39 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.48% or 6.05 to $1262.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $49.93 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.10 to trade at $51.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0985, while EUR/GBP fell 1.12% to 0.8924.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 97.84.
