Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Utilities and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr), which rose 9.80% or 0.145 points to trade at 1.625 at the close. Meanwhile, Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 8.98% or 0.2200 points to end at 2.6700 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 5.42% or 0.027 points to 0.525 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which fell 3.39% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.114 at the close. Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) declined 3.11% or 0.25 points to end at 7.80 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was down 2.73% or 0.003 points to 0.107.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 45 to 41 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) fell to all time lows; falling 3.39% or 0.004 to 0.114.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.41% or 5.55 to $1356.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.29% or 0.13 to hit $45.01 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.10 to trade at $46.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1042, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.8510.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 96.39.
