Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Household, Retail and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 8.11% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Jumbo (AT:BABr) added 7.14% or 0.600 points to end at 9.000 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was up 6.04% or 0.29 points to 5.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iaso (AT:IASr), which fell 6.02% or 0.042 points to trade at 0.656 at the close. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 5.98% or 0.007 points to end at 0.110 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was down 4.44% or 0.004 points to 0.086.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 37 to 35 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Iaso (AT:IASr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.02% or 0.042 to 0.656. Shares in Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) fell to all time lows; down 5.98% or 0.007 to 0.110.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.34% or 4.10 to $1197.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.77% or 1.00 to hit $55.39 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.52 to trade at $62.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.0733, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7190.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.49% at 98.06.
