Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 10.19% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.119 at the close. Meanwhile, Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) added 10.00% or 0.061 points to end at 0.671 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 6.21% or 0.320 points to 5.470 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which fell 11.50% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.100 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 7.89% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.1400 and ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) was down 2.30% or 0.47 points to 19.98.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 64 to 26 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) fell to all time lows; down 11.50% or 0.013 to 0.100. Shares in Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.21% or 0.320 to 5.470.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.36% or 4.95 to $1369.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.29% or 0.12 to hit $40.95 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.07 to trade at $43.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1141, while EUR/GBP rose 1.34% to 0.8480.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 95.65.
