Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Banking and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 16.26% or 0.07 points to trade at 0.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) added 12.00% or 0.12 points to end at 1.12 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was up 9.57% or 0.90 points to 10.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iaso (AT:IASr), which fell 8.87% or 0.044 points to trade at 0.452 at the close. ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) declined 4.08% or 0.89 points to end at 20.90 and Frigoglass (AT:FRIr) was down 2.97% or 0.06 points to 1.96.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 23 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Iaso (AT:IASr) fell to 5-year lows; falling 8.87% or 0.044 to 0.452.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.12% or 12.60 to $1135.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 4.02% or 1.71 to hit $44.27 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.31% or 1.57 to trade at $49.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1229, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.7314.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 95.90.
