Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Financials and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 9.97% or 0.034 points to trade at 0.375 at the close. Meanwhile, Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 9.96% or 0.2500 points to end at 2.7600 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 6.38% or 0.006 points to 0.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which fell 9.43% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.1440 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 6.88% or 0.0650 points to end at 0.8800 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was down 6.78% or 0.008 points to 0.110.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 63 to 26 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.88% or 0.0650 to 0.8800.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.25% or 3.25 to $1320.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.77% or 0.36 to hit $47.41 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.27 to trade at $49.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1229, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.8659.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 95.45.
