Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Household and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which rose 10.00% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.330 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) added 8.77% or 0.010 points to end at 0.124 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was up 8.28% or 0.13 points to 1.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elgeka (AT:ELGr), which fell 9.75% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.213 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 5.94% or 0.060 points to end at 0.950 and Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) was down 4.34% or 0.02 points to 0.42.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 56 to 43 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.68% or 7.50 to $1109.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.11% or 0.93 to hit $45.08 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.47 to trade at $48.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.42% to 1.1254, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.7283.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 95.64.
