Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Chemicals and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 11.94% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.150 at the close. Meanwhile, Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) added 9.90% or 0.100 points to end at 1.110 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 5.07% or 0.038 points to 0.788 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr), which fell 3.07% or 0.15 points to trade at 4.88 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 2.86% or 0.015 points to end at 0.510 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was down 2.60% or 0.006 points to 0.225.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 40 to 33 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.26% or 3.10 to $1205.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.56% or 1.51 to hit $60.49 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.36% or 1.53 to trade at $66.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1123, while EUR/GBP fell 0.57% to 0.7100.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 95.40.
