Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Household, Retail and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Jumbo (AT:BABr), which rose 8.16% or 0.730 points to trade at 9.680 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) added 7.54% or 0.82 points to end at 11.70 and Ellaktor (AT:HELr) was up 7.34% or 0.130 points to 1.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which fell 11.35% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.125 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 6.48% or 0.07 points to end at 1.01 and Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) was down 6.33% or 0.019 points to 0.281.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 50 to 25 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) fell to all time lows; losing 11.35% or 0.016 to 0.125. Shares in Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.48% or 0.07 to 1.01.
Gold for June delivery was down 1.26% or 15.10 to $1185.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.56% or 0.76 to hit $48.11 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.66% or 0.94 to trade at $55.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.0829, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.7316.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.59% at 98.19.
