Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Basic Resources and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which rose 4.38% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.670 at the close. Meanwhile, Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr) added 3.47% or 0.140 points to end at 4.170 and Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) was up 2.62% or 0.100 points to 3.910 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which fell 9.59% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.132 at the close. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) declined 9.39% or 0.2600 points to end at 2.5100 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was down 7.84% or 0.008 points to 0.094.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 49 to 37 and 23 ended unchanged.

Gold for December delivery was down 0.54% or 7.15 to $1323.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $44.66 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.06 to trade at $46.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1193, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8612.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 95.60.
