Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Chemicals and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 5.26% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) added 5.17% or 0.060 points to end at 1.220 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) was up 4.52% or 0.007 points to 0.162 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which fell 9.62% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.1410 at the close. Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) declined 5.39% or 0.090 points to end at 1.580 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was down 4.80% or 0.006 points to 0.119.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 50 to 46 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.87% or 11.45 to $1329.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.61% or 1.15 to hit $45.20 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.98% or 0.91 to trade at $46.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1149, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8596.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 95.85.
