Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Banking and Food sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 21.90% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.128 at the close. Meanwhile, Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 7.73% or 0.1700 points to end at 2.3700 and Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) was up 4.99% or 0.0380 points to 0.8000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which fell 9.56% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.123 at the close. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) declined 6.37% or 0.010 points to end at 0.147 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was down 3.76% or 0.005 points to 0.128.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 52 to 33 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.80% or 10.60 to $1320.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.98% or 0.44 to hit $44.31 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.47 to trade at $45.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.0978, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.8379.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 97.44.
