Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Household, Retail and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.04% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 13.93% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.139 at the close. Meanwhile, Halcor (AT:XAKO) added 6.32% or 0.022 points to end at 0.370 and FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) was up 5.80% or 0.170 points to 3.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr), which fell 3.21% or 0.150 points to trade at 4.530 at the close. Public Power (AT:DEHr) declined 2.42% or 0.08 points to end at 3.22 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was down 1.82% or 0.10 points to 5.38.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 55 to 48 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) rose to all time highs; rising 5.80% or 0.170 to 3.100.
Gold for December delivery was down 2.02% or 24.45 to $1186.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.23% or 0.11 to hit $48.14 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.04 to trade at $49.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.0547, while EUR/GBP fell 0.82% to 0.8482.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.68% at 101.78.
