Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Insurance, Utilities and Construction sectors led shares higher while losses in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Software and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.63% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.33%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 3.05% or 0.360 points to trade at 12.160 at the close. Meanwhile, Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) added 3.01% or 3.800 points to end at 130.250 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) was up 2.97% or 0.160 points to 5.554 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merck KGaA (DE:MRK), which fell 1.21% or 1.200 points to trade at 97.700 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) declined 0.73% or 0.900 points to end at 123.150 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) was down 0.61% or 0.410 points to 66.800.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hannover Rueck SE (DE:HNRGn) which rose 3.26% to 92.240, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was up 2.58% to settle at 19.510 and Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which gained 2.48% to close at 42.315.
The worst performers were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was down 4.06% to 53.860 in late trade, Airbus Group SE (F:AIRG) which lost 1.57% to settle at 50.200 and Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which was down 0.85% to 12.825 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which rose 3.21% to 25.91, Suess Microtec NA O.N. (DE:SMHNn) which was up 3.08% to settle at 6.250 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which gained 2.04% to close at 30.200.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 2.26% to 54.600 in late trade, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which lost 2.06% to settle at 9.818 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 1.83% to 23.910 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 526 to 352 and 24 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 17.92.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.95 to $1341.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.85% or 1.19 to hit $42.99 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.44% or 1.08 to trade at $45.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1079, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8494.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 96.36.
