Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Technology and Construction sectors led shares higher while losses in the Food & Beverages, Transportation & Logistics and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.29%, while the MDAX index gained 0.02%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (XETRA:TKAG), which rose 1.15% or 0.290 points to trade at 25.580 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE NA (XETRA:EONGn) added 1.12% or 0.160 points to end at 14.485 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (XETRA:IFXGn) was up 0.97% or 0.115 points to 11.920 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:VOWG_p), which fell 1.80% or 4.550 points to trade at 248.650 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (XETRA:CONG) declined 1.18% or 2.700 points to end at 226.450 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (XETRA:DPWGn) was down 1.03% or 0.320 points to 30.760.
The top performers on the MDAX were Salzgitter AG O.N. (XETRA:SZGG) which rose 2.88% to 30.195, Osram Licht (XETRA:OSRn) which was up 1.30% to settle at 47.794 and Airbus Group (XETRA:AIRG) which gained 1.18% to close at 62.586.
The worst performers were Wincor Nixdorf O.N. (XETRA:WING) which was down 10.93% to 40.675 in late trade, Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (XETRA:SZUG) which lost 1.68% to settle at 11.115 and Evonik Industries AG (XETRA:EVKn) which was down 1.43% to 35.585 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (XETRA:MORG) which rose 6.30% to 63.410, SMA Solar Technology AG (XETRA:S92G) which was up 5.20% to settle at 13.765 and BB Biotech AG (XETRA:BIONn) which gained 4.17% to close at 295.850.
The worst performers were LPKF Laser & Electronics (XETRA:LPKG) which was down 1.56% to 11.055 in late trade, PSI AG F.Pr.U.Sys. NA (XETRA:PSAGn) which lost 1.54% to settle at 12.160 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which was down 1.24% to 115.950 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 398 to 339 and 37 ended unchanged.
Shares in Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (XETRA:TKAG) rose to 3-years highs; rising 1.15% or 0.290 to 25.580. Shares in Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (XETRA:IFXGn) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.97% or 0.115 to 11.920. Shares in Osram Licht (XETRA:OSRn) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.30% or 0.613 to 47.794.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.02% to 16.97 a new 1-month low.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.36% or 4.30 to $1200.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $51.64 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.14 to trade at $58.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.0588, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7220.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 99.69.
