Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Technology and Retail sectors led shares higher while losses in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Telecoms and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.17%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.02%, and the TecDAX index added 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGN), which rose 0.87% or 0.290 points to trade at 33.615 at the close. Meanwhile, Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (XETRA:MUVGn) added 0.52% or 0.850 points to end at 164.050 and Linde AG O.N. (XETRA:LING) was up 0.45% or 0.700 points to 154.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG), which fell 1.16% or 0.130 points to trade at 11.030 at the close. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (XETRA:FREG) declined 1.06% or 0.670 points to end at 62.590 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (XETRA:CBKG) was down 1.03% or 0.105 points to 10.100.
The top performers on the MDAX were Gagfah SA Nom. (XETRA:GFJG) which rose 1.69% to 15.610, Salzgitter AG O.N. (XETRA:SZGG) which was up 1.50% to settle at 28.330 and Wincor Nixdorf O.N. (XETRA:WING) which gained 1.44% to close at 37.100.
The worst performers were Tui AG NA (XETRA:TUIGn) which was down 2.64% to 15.880 in late trade, Duerr AG O.N. (XETRA:DUEG) which lost 1.83% to settle at 69.780 and Leoni AG NA O.N. (XETRA:LEOGn) which was down 1.78% to 54.720 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) which rose 7.22% to 5.762, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (XETRA:PV) which was up 4.44% to settle at 94.000 and Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) which gained 2.35% to close at 42.905.
The worst performers were Adva Optical Networking SE (XETRA:ADAG) which was down 2.65% to 9.109 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:SATG_p) which lost 2.62% to settle at 186.100 and QSC AG NA O.N. (XETRA:QSCG) which was down 2.45% to 1.753 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 386 to 357 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (XETRA:PV) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.44% or 4.000 to 94.000.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 27.93 a new 3-years high.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.91% or 10.20 to $1132.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 6.25% or 2.66 to hit $45.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 5.69% or 2.71 to trade at $50.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.1183, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.7272.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 96.16.
