Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Financial Services, Food & Beverages and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.04%, while the MDAX index lost 0.25%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were E.ON SE NA (XETRA:EONGn), which rose 1.39% or 0.195 points to trade at 14.210 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) added 0.84% or 0.185 points to end at 22.300 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (XETRA:IFXGn) was up 0.72% or 0.085 points to 11.835 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (XETRA:FMEG), which fell 1.76% or 1.400 points to trade at 78.060 at the close. Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG) declined 1.46% or 0.200 points to end at 13.525 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (XETRA:TKAG) was down 0.98% or 0.250 points to 25.360.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kuka AG (XETRA:KU2G) which rose 3.00% to 71.800, Aurubis AG (XETRA:NAFG) which was up 2.32% to settle at 58.240 and Bilfinger SE O.N. (XETRA:GBFG) which gained 1.82% to close at 40.350.
The worst performers were Deutsche Wohnen AG Inh (XETRA:DWNG) which was down 3.58% to 24.000 in late trade, Gagfah SA Nom. (XETRA:GFJG) which lost 3.49% to settle at 17.950 and LEG Immobilien AG (XETRA:LEGn) which was down 3.43% to 71.270 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (XETRA:COPMa) which rose 4.95% to 28.860, QSC AG NA O.N. (XETRA:QSCG) which was up 2.35% to settle at 2.006 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (XETRA:PV) which gained 2.31% to close at 89.120.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (XETRA:EVTG) which was down 1.84% to 3.897 in late trade, Adva Optical Networking SE (XETRA:ADAG) which lost 1.26% to settle at 6.122 and United Internet AG NA (XETRA:UTDI) which was down 1.11% to 44.075 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 375 to 364 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (XETRA:COPMa) rose to all time highs; rising 4.95% or 1.360 to 28.860. Shares in Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (XETRA:PV) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.31% or 2.010 to 89.120.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.30% to 19.97 a new 1-month low.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.19% or 2.30 to $1209.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.36% or 0.79 to hit $58.78 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.41% or 0.91 to trade at $64.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1081, while EUR/GBP fell 0.74% to 0.7130.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 95.75.
