Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Construction, Consumer & Cyclical and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.20%, while the MDAX index fell 1.15%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.34%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (XETRA:IFXGn), which rose 1.45% or 0.165 points to trade at 11.530 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (XETRA:DTEGn) fell 0.36% or 0.055 points to end at 15.405 and E.ON SE NA (XETRA:EONGn) was down 0.39% or 0.050 points to 12.690 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG NA O.N. (XETRA:ADSGN), which fell 2.54% or 1.830 points to trade at 70.140 at the close. K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGN) declined 2.14% or 0.610 points to end at 27.875 and BASF SE NA O.N. (XETRA:BASFN) was down 1.89% or 1.580 points to 82.200.
The top performers on the MDAX were Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (XETRA:SZUG) which rose 0.63% to 15.205, DMG Mori Seiki AG (XETRA:GILG) which was up 0.05% to settle at 32.570 and Fraport AG (XETRA:FRAG) which gained 0.02% to close at 58.370.
The worst performers were Gerry Weber Internat.O.N. (XETRA:GWIG) which was down 4.48% to 20.585 in late trade, Norma Group AG NA O.N. (XETRA:NOEJ) which lost 2.68% to settle at 47.115 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:FPEG_p) which was down 2.43% to 38.495 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) which rose 0.81% to 48.765, PSI AG F.Pr.U.Sys. NA (XETRA:PSAGn) which was up 0.56% to settle at 10.850 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which gained 0.28% to close at 107.200.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (XETRA:S92G) which was down 6.81% to 20.390 in late trade, QSC AG NA O.N. (XETRA:QSCG) which lost 5.68% to settle at 1.960 and Evotec AG O.N. (XETRA:EVTG) which was down 3.18% to 3.504 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 577 to 164 and 37 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.95.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1180.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.22% or 0.74 to hit $60.03 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.25% or 0.81 to trade at $64.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1280, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7248.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 94.81.
