Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Resources, Utilities and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.98%, while the MDAX index lost 0.76%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 1.49% or 0.225 points to trade at 15.325 at the close. Meanwhile, Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG) added 0.90% or 1.050 points to end at 117.500 and Siemens AG (DE:SIEGn) was up 0.71% or 0.750 points to 107.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which fell 3.68% or 3.010 points to trade at 78.850 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) declined 3.12% or 0.385 points to end at 11.950 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was down 2.88% or 0.430 points to 14.505.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fielmann AG (DE:FIEG) which rose 1.14% to 71.800, Krones AG O.N. (DE:KRNG) which was up 1.12% to settle at 86.970 and Osram Licht AG (F:OSRn) which gained 0.62% to close at 46.507.
The worst performers were Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which was down 3.42% to 47.795 in late trade, Metro AG ST O.N. (DE:MEOG) which lost 3.61% to settle at 26.060 and Salzgitter AG (DE:SZGG) which was down 2.23% to 29.130 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 0.47% to 18.185, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was up 0.17% to settle at 9.594 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 1.08% to close at 24.203.
The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 3.60% to 59.440 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which lost 2.94% to settle at 37.750 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 1.56% to 31.510 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 539 to 328 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fielmann AG (DE:FIEG) rose to 3-years highs; up 1.14% or 0.810 to 71.800.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 17.92.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.70% or 9.45 to $1347.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $48.24 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.26 to trade at $50.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1321, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.8674.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 94.54.
