Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.93%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.88%, and the TecDAX index added 2.22%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which rose 4.74% or 0.575 points to trade at 12.705 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) added 4.52% or 3.320 points to end at 76.750 and Deutsche Boerse NA O.N. (DE:DB1Gn) was up 4.30% or 3.040 points to 73.670 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Henkel AG & Co Kgaa Vzo (DE:HNKG), which fell 0.43% or 0.450 points to trade at 105.400 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) declined 0.33% or 0.10 points to end at 32.14 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was 0.00% or 0.000 points to 166.600.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which rose 4.56% to 8.85, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was up 4.28% to settle at 48.725 and STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (DE:STAGn) which gained 3.86% to close at 43.900.
The worst performers were Salzgitter AG O.N. (DE:SZGG) which was down 5.09% to 23.145 in late trade, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which lost 3.59% to settle at 17.860 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 0.83% to 43.11 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which rose 6.77% to 35.495, Jenoptik AG O.N. (DE:JENG) which was up 6.52% to settle at 14.045 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 5.17% to close at 3.664.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 4.38% to 13.850 in late trade, STRATEC Biomedical AG (DE:SBSG) which lost 0.31% to settle at 51.990 and GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which was down 0.26% to 17.560 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 703 to 172 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 166.600.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 25.38.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.53% or 7.05 to $1317.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.79% or 0.83 to hit $47.16 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.63% or 0.78 to trade at $48.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1052, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8309.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 96.38.
