Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Food & Beverages and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.61%, while the MDAX index gained 1.23%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.53%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGn), which rose 7.25% or 2.440 points to trade at 36.110 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (XETRA:CBKG) added 6.81% or 0.657 points to end at 10.310 and RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) was up 5.69% or 0.715 points to 13.285 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Henkel AG & Co Kgaa Vzo (XETRA:HNKG_p), which rose 0.28% or 0.260 points to trade at 92.530 at the close. Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (XETRA:DPWGn) added 0.50% or 0.120 points to end at 24.325 and Linde AG O.N. (XETRA:LING) was up 0.53% or 0.800 points to 153.150.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wincor Nixdorf O.N. (XETRA:WING) which rose 3.57% to 37.300, Leoni AG NA O.N. (XETRA:LEOGn) which was up 2.94% to settle at 54.200 and LEG Immobilien AG (XETRA:LEGn) which gained 2.79% to close at 66.650.
The worst performers were Aurubis AG (XETRA:NAFG) which was down 2.43% to 57.000 in late trade, RTL Group SA (XETRA:RRTL) which lost 1.13% to settle at 77.700 and Kuka AG (XETRA:KU2G) which was down 1.01% to 72.540 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Software AG O.N. (XETRA:SOWG) which rose 4.88% to 25.690, Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) which was up 4.00% to settle at 6.181 and Jenoptik AG O.N. (XETRA:JENG) which gained 3.18% to close at 12.000.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (XETRA:COKG) which was down 0.36% to 30.825 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which lost 0.16% to settle at 30.440 and Adva Optical Networking SE (XETRA:ADAG) which was up 0.30% to 9.370 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 513 to 154 and 43 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.12% to 27.28.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.40 to $1123.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.50% or 0.23 to hit $45.82 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.47% or 1.66 to trade at $49.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1176, while EUR/GBP fell 0.57% to 0.7270.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 96.02.
