Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Media and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.23%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.42%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.25%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn), which rose 3.49% or 1.520 points to trade at 45.080 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG NA O.N. (DE:ADSGN) added 3.29% or 3.600 points to end at 113.100 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) was up 2.60% or 0.470 points to 18.530 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Henkel AG & Co Kgaa Vzo (DE:HNKG), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to trade at 102.350 at the close. Merck KGAA O.N. (DE:MRK) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 82.590 and Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG) was up 0.32% or 0.040 points to 12.350.
The top performers on the MDAX were Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (DE:SZUG) which rose 4.37% to 16.235, Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which was up 3.15% to settle at 9.77 and RTL Group SA (DE:RRTL) which gained 2.90% to close at 80.450.
The worst performers were LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) which was down 3.48% to 79.020 in late trade, CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which lost 0.38% to settle at 31.325 and Leoni AG NA O.N. (DE:LEOGn) which was down 0.35% to 28.550 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which rose 9.62% to 4.787, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which was up 4.64% to settle at 88.380 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 3.52% to close at 232.200.
The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 7.22% to 4.203 in late trade, Drillisch AG O.N. (DE:DRIG) which lost 3.56% to settle at 37.620 and United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was down 1.16% to 43.940 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 626 to 246 and 31 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.47% to 22.29.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.24% or 3.00 to $1251.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.25% or 0.12 to hit $48.55 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.06 to trade at $48.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1212, while EUR/GBP rose 0.77% to 0.7727.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 95.39.
