Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Basic Resources and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.55%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.37%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p), which rose 3.16% or 3.800 points to trade at 124.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Bay.Motoren Werke AG ST (DE:BMWG) added 1.33% or 1.010 points to end at 77.230 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) was up 1.12% or 0.920 points to 83.020 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which fell 0.62% or 0.460 points to trade at 73.150 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) declined 0.44% or 0.15 points to end at 35.42 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) was down 0.38% or 0.023 points to 6.024.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which rose 2.32% to 36.11, Salzgitter AG (DE:SZGG) which was up 1.46% to settle at 28.795 and Osram Licht AG (F:OSRn) which gained 1.30% to close at 47.346.
The worst performers were Fielmann AG (DE:FIEG) which was down 3.00% to 69.300 in late trade, Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which lost 2.86% to settle at 32.985 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was down 1.12% to 55.620 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 2.36% to 18.215, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENG) which was up 2.04% to settle at 16.250 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 1.88% to close at 25.190.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 0.80% to 38.390 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 0.74% to settle at 4.421 and RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was down 0.74% to 9.330 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 536 to 315 and 32 ended unchanged.
Shares in Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.12% or 0.920 to 83.020. Shares in Jenoptik AG (DE:JENG) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.04% or 0.325 to 16.250.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 17.92.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.15 to $1324.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.23% or 0.11 to hit $47.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.60% or 0.30 to trade at $49.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.1224, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8541.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 95.21.
