Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the General Retailers, Oil & Gas and Oil & Gas Producers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 2.81%, while the SBF 120 index fell 2.69%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Essilor International Compagnie Generale d`Optique SA (PARIS:ESSI), which fell 0.28% or 0.30 points to trade at 107.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Vinci SA (PARIS:SGEF) fell 0.45% or 0.26 points to end at 56.94 and Orange SA (PARIS:ORAN) was down 1.11% or 0.15 points to 13.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (PARIS:PRTP), which fell 6.16% or 9.30 points to trade at 141.70 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) declined 5.84% or 0.40 points to end at 6.50 and Lafargeholcim Ltd (PARIS:LHN) was down 5.37% or 3.02 points to 53.18.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neopost (PARIS:NPOS) which rose 10.05% to 33.41, Korian Medica SA (PARIS:KORI) which was up 1.53% to settle at 31.095 and Ipsen (PARIS:IPN) which gained 1.52% to close at 58.80.
The worst performers were Kering SA (PARIS:PRTP) which was down 6.16% to 141.70 in late trade, ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) which lost 5.84% to settle at 6.50 and Edenred (PARIS:EDEN) which was down 5.72% to 17.30 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 528 to 162 and 60 ended unchanged.

Shares in Lafargeholcim Ltd (PARIS:LHN) fell to all time lows; losing 5.37% or 3.02 to 53.18. Shares in Kering SA (PARIS:PRTP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.16% or 9.30 to 141.70. Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 5.84% or 0.40 to 6.50. Shares in Edenred (PARIS:EDEN) fell to 3-years lows; down 5.72% or 1.05 to 17.30.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 12.08% to 32.30.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.43% or 4.80 to $1119.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.18% or 0.55 to hit $46.20 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.53% or 0.78 to trade at $49.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1140, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.7329.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 96.29.
