Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Oil & Gas Producers and Pharmaceuticals & Biotech sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.71%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor (PARIS:ACCP), which rose 1.45% or 0.70 points to trade at 49.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) added 0.97% or 0.10 points to end at 10.38 and Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) was up 0.81% or 1.95 points to 243.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Technip (PARIS:TECF), which fell 3.00% or 1.89 points to trade at 61.07 at the close. Total SA (PARIS:TOTF) declined 1.83% or 0.86 points to end at 46.47 and Orange SA (PARIS:ORAN) was down 1.73% or 0.25 points to 14.21.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (PARIS:UBIP) which rose 2.73% to 16.205, Virbac (PARIS:VIRB) which was up 2.28% to settle at 230.75 and Korian (PARIS:KORI) which gained 2.03% to close at 31.660.
The worst performers were Soitec (PARIS:SOIT) which was down 4.82% to 0.790 in late trade, Technip (PARIS:TECF) which lost 3.00% to settle at 61.07 and Maurel Et Prom (PARIS:MAUP) which was down 2.40% to 7.86 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 497 to 397 and 60 ended unchanged.
Shares in Soitec (PARIS:SOIT) fell to all time lows; falling 4.82% or 0.040 to 0.790.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 0.85% to 20.51.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1223.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.57% or 0.34 to hit $59.54 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $66.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1418, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.7245.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 93.45.
