Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.46%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP), which rose 1.98% or 0.26 points to trade at 13.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) added 1.20% or 0.62 points to end at 52.47 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 0.69% or 0.039 points to 5.721 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Accor SA (PA:ACCP), which fell 2.16% or 0.71 points to trade at 32.23 at the close. Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) declined 1.30% or 0.39 points to end at 29.71 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was down 1.27% or 2.45 points to 190.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which rose 2.02% to 4.996, Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) which was up 1.98% to settle at 13.13 and Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which gained 1.58% to close at 8.76.
The worst performers were Edenred (PA:EDEN) which was down 2.84% to 20.50 in late trade, SES (PA:SESFd) which lost 2.37% to settle at 20.40 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) which was down 2.16% to 32.23 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 412 to 264 and 119 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 7.26% to 19.83.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.08% or 1.05 to $1256.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.27% or 0.64 to hit $49.71 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.17% or 0.61 to trade at $51.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.0995, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.9022.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 97.90.
