Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.44%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 1.33% or 0.17 points to trade at 12.93 at the close. Meanwhile, AXA SA (PA:AXAF) added 1.19% or 0.24 points to end at 20.76 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 1.03% or 0.095 points to 9.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA), which fell 4.64% or 0.226 points to trade at 4.645 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) declined 1.38% or 1.45 points to end at 103.75 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) was down 1.19% or 0.77 points to 64.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neopost (PA:NPOS) which rose 3.16% to 23.82, Imerys (PA:IMTP) which was up 2.93% to settle at 65.65 and Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which gained 2.63% to close at 8.60.
The worst performers were Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA) which was down 4.64% to 4.645 in late trade, Genfit (PA:GNFT) which lost 4.42% to settle at 18.915 and DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 3.20% to 65.350 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 371 to 299 and 115 ended unchanged.
Shares in Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) rose to all time lows; rising 1.33% or 0.17 to 12.93. Shares in Imerys (PA:IMTP) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.93% or 1.87 to 65.65.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.28% to 19.42.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.85 to $1254.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.36% or 0.69 to hit $50.10 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.07% or 0.56 to trade at $51.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP fell 1.05% to 0.9022.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 97.88.
