Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP), which rose 2.74% or 1.76 points to trade at 65.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Technip (PA:TECF) added 2.47% or 1.25 points to end at 51.92 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 1.79% or 0.090 points to 5.110 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group (PA:AIR), which fell 1.72% or 0.91 points to trade at 52.01 at the close. Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP) declined 1.29% or 1.07 points to end at 81.58 and AXA SA (PA:AXAF) was down 0.85% or 0.15 points to 17.98.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 10.10% to 3.577, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was up 9.21% to settle at 22.4100 and Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which gained 8.17% to close at 32.090.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 5.73% to 36.110 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which lost 4.11% to settle at 5.340 and Groupe Eurotunnel (PA:GETP) which was down 3.32% to 9.359 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 328 to 308 and 122 ended unchanged.
Shares in CGG SA (PA:GEPH) rose to 5-year highs; up 9.21% or 1.8900 to 22.4100. Shares in Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) fell to 3-years lows; losing 4.11% or 0.229 to 5.340.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 7.00% to 18.09 a new 6-months low.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.92% or 12.15 to $1331.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.84% or 0.84 to hit $44.91 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.65% or 0.78 to trade at $46.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1009, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8337.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 97.03.
