Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.06%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 2.95% or 0.167 points to trade at 5.820 at the close. Meanwhile, Technip (PA:TECF) added 2.40% or 1.39 points to end at 59.24 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was up 1.97% or 0.84 points to 43.77 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Accor SA (PA:ACCP), which fell 0.58% or 0.20 points to trade at 33.40 at the close. Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP) declined 0.38% or 0.32 points to end at 83.80 and Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) was down 0.37% or 0.05 points to 13.62.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 6.65% to 4.746, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was up 5.55% to settle at 26.2600 and GTT (PA:GTT) which gained 3.14% to close at 26.98.
The worst performers were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was down 2.61% to 20.675 in late trade, Sopra Steria Group SA (PA:SOPR) which lost 2.08% to settle at 97.46 and Ingenico Group (PA:INGC) which was down 1.68% to 71.61 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 401 to 261 and 116 ended unchanged.
Shares in Technip (PA:TECF) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.40% or 1.39 to 59.24. Shares in Ingenico Group (PA:INGC) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.68% or 1.22 to 71.61.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.31% to 18.68.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.72% or 9.05 to $1260.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.67% or 1.33 to hit $51.14 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.16% or 1.12 to trade at $53.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1150, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.9007.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 96.84.
