France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.44%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Household Goods, Gas & Water and Banking sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.44%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.42%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which rose 5.13% or 0.47 points to trade at 9.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (PARIS:RENA) added 3.73% or 3.49 points to end at 97.08 and Credit Agricole (PARIS:CAGR) was up 3.07% or 0.420 points to 14.115 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Technip (PARIS:TECF), which fell 1.75% or 1.13 points to trade at 63.47 at the close. Air Liquide (PARIS:AIRP) declined 1.49% or 1.80 points to end at 119.30 and Alcatel-Lucent (PARIS:ALUA) was down 1.41% or 0.053 points to 3.701.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Innate Pharma (PARIS:IPH) which rose 48.83% to 13.350, SEB SA (PARIS:SEBF) which was up 17.55% to settle at 82.84 and Saft (PARIS:S1A) which gained 5.34% to close at 36.50.

The worst performers were Genfit (PARIS:GNFT) which was down 6.98% to 40.000 in late trade, Plastic Omnium (PARIS:PLOF) which lost 1.80% to settle at 26.48 and Technip (PARIS:TECF) which was down 1.75% to 63.47 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 465 to 434 and 58 ended unchanged.

Shares in Renault SA (PARIS:RENA) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.73% or 3.49 to 97.08. Shares in Innate Pharma (PARIS:IPH) rose to all time highs; up 48.83% or 4.380 to 13.350. Shares in SEB SA (PARIS:SEBF) rose to all time highs; gaining 17.55% or 12.37 to 82.84.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.46% to 20.43.

Gold for June delivery was down 1.50% or 17.90 to $1176.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.81% or 0.47 to hit $57.27 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.47 to trade at $65.33 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.0876, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.7164.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 97.05.
