Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Automobiles & Parts, Pharmaceuticals & Biotech and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.37%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (PARIS:ORAN), which rose 3.73% or 0.53 points to trade at 14.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP) added 2.65% or 0.46 points to end at 17.60 and Technip (PARIS:TECF) was up 1.90% or 1.16 points to 62.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Credit Agricole (PARIS:CAGR), which fell 3.06% or 0.435 points to trade at 13.790 at the close. Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) declined 2.41% or 0.25 points to end at 10.12 and Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) was down 2.03% or 4.95 points to 238.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orange SA (PARIS:ORAN) which rose 3.73% to 14.74, Orpea (PARIS:ORP) which was up 2.89% to settle at 62.23 and Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP) which gained 2.65% to close at 17.60.
The worst performers were Vallourec (PARIS:VLLP) which was down 3.37% to 23.09 in late trade, Credit Agricole (PARIS:CAGR) which lost 3.06% to settle at 13.790 and Solocal Group (PARIS:LOCAL) which was down 2.68% to 0.472 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 466 to 423 and 61 ended unchanged.
Shares in Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.65% or 0.46 to 17.60. Shares in Orpea (PARIS:ORP) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.89% or 1.75 to 62.23. Shares in Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP) rose to 3-years highs; rising 2.65% or 0.46 to 17.60.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.90% to 19.91.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.12% or 1.50 to $1226.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.18% or 0.11 to hit $60.43 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.47 to trade at $66.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.86% to 1.1350, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7242.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 94.00.
