Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Oil & Gas Producers and Electronic Equipment sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.36%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Technip (PARIS:TECF), which rose 3.58% or 1.70 points to trade at 49.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Total SA (PARIS:TOTF) added 2.49% or 1.00 points to end at 41.18 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) was up 2.44% or 0.17 points to 7.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vivendi SA (PARIS:VIV), which fell 1.87% or 0.42 points to trade at 22.30 at the close. Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP) declined 1.36% or 0.21 points to end at 15.59 and Valeo SA (PARIS:VLOF) was down 1.35% or 1.55 points to 113.65.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet (PARIS:ERMT) which rose 5.23% to 49.89, Technip (PARIS:TECF) which was up 3.58% to settle at 49.05 and Maurel Et Prom (PARIS:MAUP) which gained 2.96% to close at 4.83.
The worst performers were Ingenico Group (PARIS:INGC) which was down 7.90% to 111.40 in late trade, Gemalto (AMS:GTO) which lost 3.04% to settle at 62.82 and Solocal Group (PARIS:LOCAL) which was down 2.05% to 0.334 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 426 to 380 and 53 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.00% to 29.62.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.93% or 10.40 to $1133.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 6.91% or 2.94 to hit $45.50 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 6.13% or 2.92 to trade at $50.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.1163, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.7261.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.57% at 96.29.
