Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Aerospace & Defense, Gas Water and Oil & Gas Producers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.83% to hit a new 5-year high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group (PARIS:AIR), which rose 7.17% or 3.70 points to trade at 55.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement (PARIS:VIE) added 2.47% or 0.420 points to end at 17.400 and Solvay (BRU:SOLB) was up 2.43% or 3.15 points to 132.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alcatel-Lucent (PARIS:ALUA), which fell 1.24% or 0.044 points to trade at 3.497 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) declined 1.21% or 3.15 points to end at 257.30 and Accor (PARIS:ACCP) was down 1.15% or 0.55 points to 46.83.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Airbus Group (PARIS:AIR) which rose 7.17% to 55.33, Sopra Steria Group SA (PARIS:SOPR) which was up 7.06% to settle at 78.05 and Suez Environnement (PARIS:SEVI) which gained 3.20% to close at 15.945.
The worst performers were Genfit (PARIS:GNFT) which was down 4.60% to 60.000 in late trade, Klepierre (PARIS:LOIM) which lost 2.37% to settle at 43.69 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PARIS:UBIP) which was down 1.47% to 16.415 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 531 to 381 and 52 ended unchanged.

Shares in Solvay (BRU:SOLB) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.43% or 3.15 to 132.80. Shares in Airbus Group (PARIS:AIR) rose to 52-week highs; up 7.17% or 3.70 to 55.33.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 3.42% to 16.80.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.32% or 3.90 to $1214.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in April rose 2.18% or 1.05 to hit $49.22 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract rose 2.82% or 1.70 to trade at $61.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1194, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.7250.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 95.33.
