Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 1.64%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1), which rose 2.30% or 0.080 points to trade at 3.558 at the close. Meanwhile, Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) added 0.41% or 0.040 points to end at 9.745 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 0.06% or 0.02 points to 32.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Valmt (HE:VALMT), which fell 3.87% or 0.58 points to trade at 14.41 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) declined 3.46% or 0.76 points to end at 21.20 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was down 3.18% or 0.2300 points to 7.0100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 128 to 48 and 14 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 2.60% or 1.19 to $44.65 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.73% or 1.22 to hit $43.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 2.59% or 32.75 to trade at $1233.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.0836, while EUR/GBP fell 0.88% to 0.8604.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 99.10.
