Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.50% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 2.19% or 0.64 points to trade at 29.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) added 2.17% or 0.77 points to end at 36.24 and TeliaSonera AB (HE:TLS1V) was up 1.88% or 0.082 points to 4.436 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V), which fell 12.01% or 1.53 points to trade at 11.21 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) declined 3.00% or 0.47 points to end at 15.22 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was down 1.64% or 0.125 points to 7.510.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 98 to 73 and 17 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 5.12% or 1.94 to $39.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 5.04% or 1.81 to hit $37.70 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.35% or 4.30 to trade at $1225.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1423, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8071.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 94.34.
