Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Tieto Oyj (HEL:TIE1V), which rose 4.37% or 1.00 points to trade at 23.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Fortum Oyj (HEL:FUM1V) added 2.24% or 0.34 points to end at 15.50 and Kemira Oyj (HEL:KRA1V) was up 1.86% or 0.21 points to 11.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were YIT Oyj (HEL:YTY1V), which fell 2.35% or 0.17 points to trade at 6.86 at the close. Metso Oyj (HEL:MEO1V) declined 1.97% or 0.50 points to end at 24.86 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HEL:STERV) was down 1.87% or 0.165 points to 8.635.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 99 to 71 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tieto Oyj (HEL:TIE1V) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.37% or 1.00 to 23.89.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.22% or 0.12 to $56.01 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.63% or 0.31 to hit $48.88 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.27% or 2.90 to trade at $1094.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.0995, while EUR/GBP rose 1.24% to 0.7086.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 97.24.
