Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 2.89%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HEL:OUT1V), which rose 17.30% or 0.5840 points to trade at 3.9600 at the close. Meanwhile, Outotec Oyj (HEL:OTE1V) added 4.79% or 0.250 points to end at 5.470 and Metso Oyj (HEL:MEO1V) was up 4.51% or 0.97 points to 22.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cargotec Oyj (HEL:CGCBV), which fell 1.13% or 0.32 points to trade at 28.08 at the close. Konecranes Oyj (HEL:KCR1V) added 0.64% or 0.18 points to end at 28.48 and Tieto Oyj (HEL:TIE1V) was up 0.65% or 0.15 points to 23.09.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 140 to 32 and 8 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 7.78% or 3.35 to $46.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 8.68% or 3.35 to hit $41.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.16% or 1.80 to trade at $1122.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.93% to 1.1210, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.7284.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.75% at 96.02.
